We had a fabulous Christmas with Grammy, Papa, Mandy, Andy and Ralphie! When we got home we had a second "Christmas" as we opened our gifts from Nathan's parents, Lucille's Grandma and Grandpa. Here is a video of Lucille opening those gifts. The last gift is one from Nate and I. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter! Merry Christmas Lucy Pie!

Lucy Anne and Jack
Last weekend we took our little Lucy to Houston to meet tiny baby Jack! who was 3.5 weeks old. Jack's mom Lindsey is one of my best friends. Lucy looked like a toddler compared to Jack! It was incredible to see how much she's grown the last few months. She had lots of fun in Houston playing with Steve and Lindsey and Mama and Daddy, and can't wait for baby Jack to be big enough to play! Here are some pictures of our fun weekend.

(Look how much Lucy has grown! This pic may be a little deceiving though because Lucy is sporting a cloth diaper under those adorable ruffled shorts which tends to add a little more 'junk in the trunk.') Coming soon- Lucy turns 6 months!

Happy 4 Months!
Our little Sweet Cheeks turned 4 months old this week! She is still full of smiles and has begun to show her Cutcher performance skills quite frequently. Here are a few examples:
Last Sunday Lucille went to her Sunday School class for the second time. When we picked her up the teachers went on and on about how smiley she was! Apparently all of the other babies started crying at the same time and Lucille just smiled!
On Wednesday Lucille went for her 4 month doctor's visit. She did great! She had never rolled completely over before, and then right when the doctor placed her on her stomach on the table, she rolled over (right there, for the doctor!)! Yay Sweet Cheeks! Other news from the doctor- Lucille now weighs about 14 pounds and measures 24 inches.
This whole week Lucille has been practicing her new skill of mimicking sounds (well... sound). She only mimics one sound so far, but it is her new absolute favorite game. She would play all day if we were up for it! Here's a clip, although she was very tired in this shot and was a little distracted.

Lucy's Latest

Lucille was all smiles this weekend when we dressed her up for church in this adorable ensemble from Aunt Mandy. She especially liked the collar (built-in chew toy!). She went to her Sunday school class for the first time and didn't cry at all! When we picked her up she was sitting happily in a Bumbo chair, chewing her new outfit. Her teachers said she just smiled at everyone! Yay!

Like I wrote previously, Lucille has figured out how to twist and turn in order to see the TV. She's just about to roll over any day now.

Lucille got to go see Grammy Lucia at her office in Salado last week! Here she is sitting with Grammy at lunch. The picture that actually shows Grammy Lucia didn't turn out! :(

Lucille is super excited that her daddy now works from home! She loves playing with him during his breaks and at lunchtime.

Lucille graduated from sitting in the infant sling in the baby bathtub to sitting in the actual baby bathtub. She loves it! She spends most of her time kicking her feet enthusiastically and trying to suck on the washcloth.

Finally, Lucille is getting very strong! She still only "tolerates" tummy time, despite her happy face in this picture.

Lucy turns 3 Months!

Happy 3 months Lucille! We are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy little baby girl!
Lucille is really starting to show her personality these days. She smiles ALL DAY. Even when she gets tired or upset she'll try so hard to smile back at us. She smiles at people at the grocery store, at church, at stoplights, and at restaurants! We love, love, love her sweet, warm smiles!
Lucille is also starting to "talk" all the time. She has a wide variety of "words" and sounds and her Grammy Lucia is convinced that she is going to start actually talking any day now :). Lucille especially likes to talk to her Daddy after work.
Lucille has started to grab at toys and despite our best efforts, is fascinated by the TV. We always face her away from the TV, but she has now started to twist her body and head in all directions to be able to see it. It's pretty funny!
I think Lucille is going to be a bit of a daredevil. She loves to jog around the house with her Mama, rock really fast in the rocking chair, and swing at high speeds. Other Lucille favorites include bath time, story time, silly music, and her Bumbo seat. Lucille's not-so-favorite-things include car rides, being held like a "little baby (horizontal position)," the vacuum, and the hair dryer.
Happy 3 Months Lucille! We can't wait for the next 3! Oh and by the way, the rest of her 3 month portraits are on Facebook.

Little Lucy Anne Meets her Great Grandparents!

Last week Lucille had the wonderful privilege of meeting her Great Grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Callison. They are from Citrus Heights, California and were making their way across the U.S. visiting family. We had such a nice time visiting with them for the evening, and lovely Lucille enjoyed all of the attention! She especially enjoyed being held by her Great Grandma and being sung to by her Great Grandpa! We all can't wait to see them again in November!

Before Lucille
We showed this slide show at our wedding, but several of you never got to see it! It has some pictures of us as babies. Who do you think Lucille resembles? Make sure and vote in my poll!

Take (2) Me Out to the Ballgame
For some reason, my "scrapblog" wouldn't allow some of you to see these pictures. So here they are! Last week, Lucille enjoyed her first baseball game (Round Rock Express at the Dell Diamond). We didn't see any home runs or grand slams, but it was still pretty exciting! Lucille did great. She seemed to really take in all of the sights and sounds. She is a very observant baby.

Lucy Goes to Church
A few weeks ago, Lucille took her first trip to church (High Point, Grammy and Papa Ralph's church). She loved looking at all of the lights and people and seemed to enjoy the music too! We can't exactly say the same thing about when we took her to our church, The Austin Stone Community Church. The extra loud music scared her and she spent most of her time in the lobby!

Happy 2 Months!
Happy 2 Month Birthday Lucy! The last two months have been the most wonderful, tiring, exciting, exhausting, fulfilling, sleepless months of our lives :)! We can't imagine life without our little Lucille. She is just perfect!
At her 2 month check-up she weighed 11.1 lbs and measured 23.5 inches. Here she is wearing a special dress from her "adopted great-grandma," Mimi. She is also sporting her Mama's 1980s baby bonnet.

Sweet, Soft and Squishy Smiles!
Lucille is getting sweeter, softer and squishier every day! She loves to smile and coo and is becoming more and more animated! She is definitely developing a personality of her own.
A few tidbits about Lucille: She loves to interact with people, but doesn't necessarily love being held all of the time. Sometimes she just likes to sit by herself. She is starting to "talk" all of the time. She tells us (sometimes quite loudly and frequently!) that she doesn't like being in the backseat by herself, hates having her neck washed, hates having her clothes changed, LOVES her musical ladybug mobile, and is excited for her daddy to get home from work. Lucille has definite opinions about things, just like her Mama! She also lets us know that she still wants to be fed every 3 hours. She's working on those rolls on her thighs.

Lucy Anne and Porter Puppy
Lucille's Grandpa Ralph (Nathan's Dad, and yes, both her Grandpa's and her cousin are named Ralph! And it's also her Daddy's middle name) lives in California and hasn't had the opportunity to make it out to Texas yet. A few weeks before Lucille was born, Grandpa sent this adorable little stuffed puppy. The tag says her name is "Porter." Lucille has spent the last two days playing with Porter puppy and talking with her Mama about Grandpa Ralph in California. She can't wait to meet Grandpa (and Aunt Naomi and soon-to-be Uncle Dale!). Her big California debut is scheduled for the first week of November.

Girls Night Out!
Three of my best friends from high school came in town this weekend. Lindsey is pregnant and having a baby boy in October (Lucy is excited!), so we were throwing her a shower. After the shower, we had our first Girls Night Out with Lucille. She had a blast at Chili's. And by "blast" I mean that she slept soundly the entire time!

Happy 1 Month!
Lucille Annelise is officially 1 month old! We have had so much fun getting to know her this last month. Here are some things we have learned about our amazing daughter:1. She loves to swing and listen to music.
2. She "smiles" a lot, especially when she's sleeping! We can't wait for the first real smile, when she really knows what she's doing!
3. She likes to sleep with the lights on. If we lay her in the bassinet with the lights on, she stays asleep. The minute we turn the lights off, she starts to grunt and moan.
4. She prefers to grunt and moan to get our attention, rather than cry.
5. Car rides make her fall asleep.
6. She likes to go to Sonic Happy Hour every day!
7. She loves laying on Daddy's (or Papa Ralph's) chest and being patted on the back.
8. She likes having her feet kissed by her Aunt Mandy and she likes being sung to by her Grandma Carla.
9. She loves bath time as long as we keep pouring warm water on her. Otherwise she gets cold and hates it.
10. She has a wide range of funny facial expressions that we love to sit and watch.
11. She is the cutest, most amazing baby ever!
12. She is happy Kris Allen won American Idol.

Lazy Days with Lucy

Our beautiful Lucille likes... no wait... LOVES to sleep! During the daytime, that is :). It is her newest hobby. I keep telling her that she's missing some beautiful spring days here in Texas (it has been in the 80s instead of the 90s this week!) and that it's fun to look out of the stroller when we go to Target. She thinks it's more fun to sleep.

The Woes of Tummy Time
Lucille had her first "tummy time" this week. Even though she was all dressed up for the big event, she hated all 3 minutes of it! She did start to lift up her head though!
Lucille prefers lounging on top of the tummy time pillow and looking cute.
Lucille was equally enthusiastic trying tummy time on Nathan.
It's hard to watch her get upset, but I know it's good for her to exercise her neck muscles. She's getting stronger every day! The last few days she has been much more alert! She likes to sit next to me and ponder the great mysteries of life while I update her blog.
We love our sweet baby girl!
